The Umrah duration might affect by different factors including knowledge, time or accompany. Let’s have a look on what factors can affect the Umrah duration.
Knowledge: Many of you might think what the relation between Umrah time duration with knowledge is but believe me this is the most crucial factor that affects your Umrah time. How? Let’s see. If you have good knowledge about Umrah rituals, Islam and Umrah steps, you can save lots of time. Well-prepared pilgrim can complete his/her Umrah more efficiently than those who look for help on every step. But the case is slightly different with new converters of Islam; they need more time as everything is unfamiliar for them. We often observe that new converters ask for directions and supplication they can make at different points. Though they have things written but still they need more time and ofcourse their Umrah will complete late than the one who already perform the sacred obligation. Umrah doesn’t start from the point you step into Holy Kabah, but it begins with your intentions. All pilgrims should understand Umrah completely before reaching the sacred land and should understand its teaching even after its completion.
Before or After Hajj Season: There is a massive crowd somedays before the hajj as pilgrims from all over the world start gathering in Makkah. Similarly, after the hajj you can see the huge crowd as all of them can’t leave the country at once, they need time and during that time they prefer to perform as many Umrah as they can. It is recommended to plan Umrah sometime after the hajj when hajjis’ leave the Makkah. At that time there are few people and you can perform Umrah easily within few hours.
Time of the Day: On what particular time of the day you’re going to perform Umrah also affects its duration. It takes more time to complete rituals during rush hours so; one should avoid going such times. The best time to complete your Umrah fastly is early morning as there are very few people at that time. Late hours of the day also works well as people get tired at that time and leave for the hotels.
With whom you’re performing Umrah: Accompany of family members also plays role in time duration of your Umrah. Healthy male members can complete their Umrah within 3 to 4 hours but if they’re performing Umrah with females they need more time. Also, young kids’ accompany or members on wheelchair can add more hours. Carrying the family members on wheelchair can take lot more time due to rush and slow pace.
These are some factors that can affect the time duration of your Umrah. Whatever package you choose, it comes with minimum 7 days which means you have 6 extra days to spend on holy land. What will you do during this time? You can perform multiple Umrah in one trip, it is permissible and there is no restriction on how many Umrah you perform in one trip unless you complete all the rituals without any mistake. Your first Umrah should be for yourself and after that you can perform lesser pilgrimage for your family or deceased members of your family. One should keep in mind that this time is excludes the travel time from your country to reach the Saudi Kingdom.
