Do Muslims and Christians Worship the Same God?

The whole world knows that Muslims believe in One God, the One who created the entire Universe, He is the Eternal and independent in His actions. Muslims call their God “Allah”. Many people get confused when they see or heard Christians referring to the eternal being or God. They want to know whether the eternal being they’re referring to is the same God of Muslims. Even if you pick the Arabic Bible, you’ll see the word Allah in the entire book used where God is used in English. That clearly shows that the word Allah in Arabic is equivalent to the word God.

Another thing that changes the concept of Allah from God is that there word Allah can’t be made plural but you can see word gods many times. Allah is the only one, the sole creator of the universe and independent in His actions, the magnificent, the most merciful and glorious. Another interesting thing to note that the word “El” (used for God) in Aramaic (the language of Jesus) is more similar to word Allah than God. This is also true for many Hebrew words for God as well like “El” and “Elah” and plural or glorified form “Elohim”. This is mainly because of the common origin of Aramaic, Arabic and Hebrew languages.

This vague language provides a chance for different translators to translate the word according to their views.
